Read All About Cockroaches

It’s scary to think of, but there are currently over 3,500 different species of cockroaches that live on this planet. But the good news is only about 30 of those species have adapted to live around humans. The bad news? 30  species of cockroaches can live around us!

Roaches are one of the most common pests in Canada as well as the United States. So it’s no surprise that humans are always trying to get rid of them.

But no matter how many times we stomp on them, squash them, and treat for them with toxic chemicals, these pests seem to come back time and time again.

So what can you do about cockroaches?

Roaches may be hard to kill, but there’s an easy way to keep them out of your kitchen and other areas of your house. Cleanliness and good sanitation practices.

So, store food in airtight containers. Cover trash receptacles, and make sure to keep your basement dry and free of moisture. Another good idea is to patch up holes and cracks in your walls.

Other Preventative Measures

You can also plug up unused electrical outlets, especially drains, since roaches can use your plumbing system to climb up from the sewer system right into your bathroom sink.

Taking these steps will not eliminate the risk of a cockroach
infestation entirely, but it won’t hurt, and it can certainly make you feel a little better.

A roach just won’t survive in unsanitary conditions, they actually enjoy it. Their heightened senses mean they actually relish rotting and decaying food matter.
