Tri-Annual Treatments

Knowledge about pest activity on your property is key to understanding why an annual treatment plan is the only solution to keeping pests out.
Pest environments are constantly changing due to Seasonality and Environments colliding, this causes unwanted pest pressure at any given time throughout the year.

SEASONS // WEATHER CHANGE

The Sun

Sun

Hot summers make stinging insects more desperate for moisture and more aggressive.
Insect life cycles speed up, doubling populations.

Rain on umbrella

Rain

Mosquitoes require standing water to complete a life cycle.
Heavy rainstorm can flood insect colonies onto your property.

Wonderful winter rural landscape. Old wooden barn

Winter

Rodents move close to structures in search for shelter.

Neighbourhood Construction

Building a New Home Construction

Due to these factors, pests will continually establish new nesting, breeding, travelling, and feeding grounds as weather shifts. This creates unwanted pest pressure on your property at any given time even if you have experienced little to no pressure in the past.

Harbourage Conditions

Stack of firewood decorated with potted plant

Due to these factors, pests will continually establish new nesting, breeding, travelling, and feeding grounds as weather shifts. This creates unwanted pest pressure on your property at any given time even if you have experienced little to no pressure in the past.

Landscape Renovations

Neat patio

Due to these factors, pests will continually establish new nesting, breeding, travelling, and feeding grounds as weather shifts. This creates unwanted pest pressure on your property at any given time even if you have experienced little to no pressure in the past.

Foraging Opportunities

Due to these factors, pests will continually establish new nesting, breeding, travelling, and feeding grounds as weather shifts. This creates unwanted pest pressure on your property at any given time even if you have experienced little to no pressure in the past.

INSECT LIFE CYCLE

Majority of Insects complete their full life cycle in one calendar year and often many insects will complete Multiple Generations in one calendar year. Ie, ants – every 60 days. Mosquito – every 21 days.

EGG STAGE IMMUNITY

Insects are immune to treatments while in their egg stage of the life cycle.

Seasonality, Environments Colliding, Egg Stage Immunity, and Multiple Generations make a one-time treatment helpful but can never be considered a long-term solution.
Sharing less of your environment with pests requires a regular treatment schedule with the ability to get a treatment (Avayda Promise) when a pest issue pops up.
Thank you for trusting in Avayda to take care of this for you. Throughout several years of pest control experience, we have developed a 6-step process, the Avayda Process; these steps are applied on a treatment schedule tailored to the seasons we encounter and according to IPM (Integrated Pest Management). Your IPM and season tailored treatments are Disrupt, Control, Maintain, and Repel.

DISRUPT

Timing:

Your Disrupt treatment is the very first Avayda treatment that your property will receive. Ideally this happens within hours or a few days after a consultation with our sales and routing specialists.

Process:

Our Service Pros will apply the Avayda Process steps 1-5 on the Pro+ Plan in addition to the repel treatment, step 6, on the Premium plan.
We will identify key recommendations that will help us work in tandem with you as a team to limit the pest pressure experienced on your property.

Why:

All pest activity occurring in or around your home will be identified and treated. This “DISRUPTS” all nesting, breeding, travelling, and feeding grounds that have been established or are being established. Your Disrupt treatment begins the crucial steps of taking control of the pest activity on your property.
Your Disrupt treatment will knockdown the adult, larvae, and pupa stages in the insect life cycle, however anything in the egg stage of the lifecycle is immune to all treatments so the need for your 60-day follow up CONTROL treatment is extremely important.

Expectations:

You will likely see increased pest activity for a few days after the Disrupt treatment. This is normal, as the treatment has disrupted their entire environment, the treatment is designed to have a residual that will be effective for multiple weeks and will achieve its effectiveness over that time as well as limit new pest activity from being established.

CONTROL

Timing:

Your Control treatments occur within 60 days after your Disrupt treatment AND on your tri-annual schedule when the schedule lands in the spring, fall and summer months.

Process:

Our Service Pros will apply the Avayda process steps 1-4 (step 5 on request or when observation reveals a need).
We will identify any new key recommendations as well as follow up with previous recommendations that will help us work in tandem with you as a team to limit the pest pressure experienced on your property.

Why:

Your 60-day control treatment will allow for us to remove the larvae, pupa, and adult insects that were in their egg stage on your disrupt treatment. All other control treatments that land in the spring, summer, or fall are designed to ensure that no new pest activity has become  stablished, this maintains CONTROL of all pest activity before it reaches a serious level of concern.

Expectations:

A week after your control treatment you should experience very little to no pest pressure on your property.
Due to factors such as seasonality, environments colliding egg stage immunity and multiple generations it is impossible to remove every pest living inside and outside of your home, but you will notice a tremendous difference, if not then we are here for you on our Avayda Promise.

MAINTAIN

Timing:

Your Maintain treatment occurs one time per year on your Tri-annual schedule when the schedule lands on a colder winter month.

Process:

Our Service Pros will apply the Avayda process steps 1-5 with a variation on steps 3 and 4 when the weather is in freezing temperatures. Our Service Pros focus will be on handling any interior rodent activity you may be experiencing, as well as exterior bait station monitoring. There will be a focus on light exclusion work to ensure that gaps, cracks, and crevices leading into your home are sealed and treated.
The Avayda Process will identify any new key recommendations as well as follow up with previous recommendations that will help us work in tandem with you as a team to limit the pest pressure experienced on your property.

Why:

Contrary to popular belief, pests do not disappear in the winter. You may not see them out foraging for food or establishing living arrangements, but they are still very much alive and present on your property. Cold winter weather does not affect wall dwelling pests like carpenter ants, cockroaches, and earwigs. The carpenter ant will destroy wood internally all winter long as they bud and continue to excavate galleries for their nesting areas. The cockroach is one of the planets most resilient species, they hide during the day behind kitchen units and emerge at night feeding on anything left in the sink and countertops.
Attics provide winter shelter for spiders. They lay their eggs in a silk sac in the fall, hidden in a web in undisturbed locations. Attics are the perfect harbourage location for roof rats, the insulation provides excellent nesting during winter months. They enter through damaged eaves and vent openings.
During the winter, mice and Norway rats move closer to the foundation of structures looking for shelter, food, and water. They do not hibernate in the winter. They will enter through any gaps, cracks, and crevices no wider than a dime’s width. Winter rodent control is extremely important due to how quickly these species breed.
Your Maintain treatment on a cold winter month is critical in successfully limiting pest pressure you experience in your home year-round.

Expectations:

We focus on rodent control through light exclusion work and bait station monitoring, crack, and crevice treatments as well as any interior concerns you may have.

REPEL

Timing:

Your Repel treatments occur every 30-45 days during the summer months of June to August. On one of the summer months your Maintain and Repel treatments will take place at the same time.

Process:

Your Service Pro will treat both the front and the back yard for mosquitos and ticks. This treatment is applied to the entire yard in all areas such as the grass yard, shrubs, small trees, and under decks.
The Avayda Process will identify key recommendations that will help us work in tandem with you as a team to get rid of mosquito activity. The recommendations will be to remove any standing water on your property as mosquitoes need water to lay their eggs in and complete their 21-day life cycle.

Why:

The repel treatment is an all-natural garlic-based treatment that effectively repels mosquitoes and ticks.
Since mosquitoes are soft bodied insects, the treatment can be very toxic to them. Mosquitoes can detect odour as much as 10,000 times better than a human. The odour of garlic repels them for as long as they can detect that odour. The treatment does not harm humans, pets, or plants. The treatment is known to effectively repel most insects but has been designed and scientifically proven to work on mosquitoes and ticks.

Expectations:

Due to mosquitos being airborne and not being in control of the surrounding properties, we cannot guarantee that you will never see a mosquito in your yard. What we do guarantee is that you will experience at minimum an 80% reduction in mosquito activity. We are confident that you will notice a massive difference in your ability to enjoy your back yard with little to no worry of tick and mosquitoes being in your way.

Avayda Promise

We are a premier residential pest control company that is focused on providing our customers a local Canadian owned treatment experience. Our service trucks stay local in your city and only service residential consumers. This allows us to be available when you need us, not when we can get to you.
The Avayda Promise is “if the bugs come back, so do we” at no additional charge if your plan is active.
We guarantee the interior of your home from the general and specialty pests listed based on the Pro+ and Premium plans.
For the exterior we will return on the Avayda promise if you have a stinging insect concern pop up where the nest is identified as being on your property. If you notice a large amount of insect activity more so than an ant or two on the driveway we will return for no charge. If you are not noticing a major reduction in mosquito activity, then we will return for another treatment. The occasional mosquito or wasp may fly in from your neighbor’s yard, we likely will come back out to see what’s up but hope that you can be understanding that 100% elimination of outside pests is impossible.
